Event Description: Join us for an informative lunch event featuring Minnesota’s top law enforcement officials speaking about the issues that affect your business every day. Hear from Saint Paul Police Chief Tom Smith, Ramsey County Sheriff Matt Bostrom, and Minnesota State Patrol Chief Colonel Matthew Langer and moderator Reg Chapman, as they discuss the greatest challenges facing the East Metro Community today and what is being done to address those challenges.  They will present the latest crime trends and statistics from the East Metro and you will have the opportunity to take part in an essential conversation regarding the connection between law enforcement and the business community. Bring your questions and concerns to this constructive, community-building event.

Panelists:
Matt Bostrom, Ramsey County Sheriff
Matt Bostrom took the oath of office as the 21st Sheriff of Ramsey County on January 4, 2011. As Ramsey County Sheriff, Matt leads Minnesota’s first law enforcement agency and second largest sheriff’s office, which protects over 500,000 residents in a metropolitan area of 3.2 million people.

Colonel Matthew Langer, Minnesota State Patrol Chief
Colonel Matt Langer has been a Minnesota State Trooper for 16 years.  He served for 2½ years as the Assistant Chief and a year as the Acting Chief before being appointed Colonel, Chief of the State Patrol, in January 2015.

Tom Smith, Saint Paul Police Chief
Chief Tom Smith oversees all department operations.  The Assistant Chiefs of the three divisions report directly to Chief Smith, as well as the Police Civilian Internal Affairs Review Commission, the Inspection Unit, Internal Affairs Unit and the Office of Public Information.

Moderator:
Reg Chapman, WCCO-TV
Reg Chapman joined WCCO-TV in May of 2009. He came to WCCO from WNBC-TV in New York City where he covered an array of stories for the station including the Coney Island plane crash, the crane collapse on the city’s east side, 50 shots fired at motorist Sean Bell by New York Police, and a lacrosse team assault at Fairfield High School in Connecticut.
